LRA Summer News

I just wanted to provide a few updates and news as we are entering the second half of a great year for LRA.

If you have a story idea or article, please pass them on to “Antonella Manganelli” , email   antomanganelli@aol.com  who has been doing an excellent job in re-establishing the LRA newsletter.  Please provide your items by August 2, since we like to distribute the newsletter by August 10.

I believe our schedule is really on track for the most exhibitions on a yearly basis since LRA was established almost 50 years ago.  We have a new Painters show at USGS starting on August 1, when the current LRA photographers’ show comes down.  We have a change-over at the Reston Chamber of Commerce on August 7 with photos being displayed at no cost to current paid-up LRA members.   Be sure to check our web site for postings of numerous opportunities to showcase your work throughout the year.

I would also like to mention that in the event, you are unable to to drop off or pick up your work, please make arrangements for a friend or another member of LRA to handle that task for you.    Over the past few years, our Exhibition Coordinators have been repeatedly asked to handle that task, which they can’t do, with the handling of all of the other logistics of the exhibition.

On a very positive note, we will be holding a special exhibition at the Ernst Center in Annadale from September 6 – October 25 and we should be issuing the call for both Painting and Photography within the next week.  This exhibition will provide yet another venue in northern Virginia for our members to display your work to an even wider audience.

If you have any friends who are interested in joining LRA, we have a special $20 fee to the second half of 2014 and they can apply via our web site at http://www.leagueofrestonartists.org/payments     Be sure they click on Mid-year rate when they apply.
