The League of Reston Artists supports and encourages young local creative talent through the LRA Scholarship program. The LRA Scholarship Committee selects and awards scholarships to high school art students preparing to enter college.
Each year our organization awards scholarships to students selected from Gold Key portfolios of the Fairfax County Public Schools Scholastic Art Program. These visual art portfolios from student submissions are judged by a panel of distinguished professional artists and college/university instructors from the area. The students chosen by our Scholarship Committee are presented with an LRA Scholarship Award on behalf of all members at a special ceremony in February.
The specific amounts awarded are determined by the funds raised for the year. The more funds collected and directed to this program, the more Scholarships that can be distributed and the more prestige and goodwill – for you as a donor and for our Artist League in general.
