The Artist:
Elizabeth Linares is the first-born daughter of Puerto Rican parents.
Born and raised in New York, Linares was hard hit by the September
11th attacks on our nation. An avid photographer since childhood,
it was this moment that caused her to reevaluate her life and focus
on her art.
Fascinated by the power of now, Linares paints with light. She
believes that is by being in the present moment that we are allowed
to listen and reflect and capture the beauty around us. Her
work is passionate, joyful, thought-provoking, and uplifting.
Certified by the Washington School of Photography, Linares' work
has been recognized nationally by the Washington Gallery of Photography
in Washington, DC. She is a member of the Professional Photographers
of America and the League of Reston Artists.
Elizabeth Linares' inspiration comes from her appreciation of
life. Knowing that we are put on this earth for just so many days
and no more has taught her to be grateful for the moment. Knowing
that certain people are put in our lives for a reason gives her
cause to listen and see everyone she encounters. Because there
are no ordinary moments.
