Judge: Jim Carrell
Jim Carrell is an advanced amateur photographer who captures, processes and prints his images digitally. He has been a member of the Manassas-Warrenton Camera Club for 10 years where he has served as President and Vice-president for Programs and has received awards for Top Ten Images of the Year, Best Print of the Year, Intermediate Slide Photographer of the Year, and Intermediate Alternative Process Prints Photographer of the Year. In seven annual photo contests for Fairfax County employees, he has received 20 awards including 2 Best of Show. His images have been in several juried venues, including four annual Nature in American Photography exhibits at Meadowlark Garden, the community Art Show (Haymarket, VA), the Images of Liberia House exhibit at the Manassas Museum, Photography exhibit at the Centre for the Arts in Manassas, the 2005 and 2006 Spring and Fall and 2007 Fall Art at the Mill shows, and the Images of Prince William County, Virginia exhibit. Although subjects from the natural world predominate in his portfolio, he enjoys shooting a variety of subjects, including abstracts.
AWARDS
Cash awards totaling $300 as well as honorable mentions will be chosen by the judge.
Peoples’ Choice Award: Visitors to the show can vote for their favorite work. The work with the most votes will receive special recognition.
ENTRY DEADLINE AND FEE
LRA Members $15; Non-Members $25.
Mail and email entries and all material for press promotion must be received by Friday, June 27.
Entries will also be accepted at the door. Please send your entry
form and a check made payable to LRA, PO Box 2513, Reston, VA 20195. To join the LRA
or to renew your LRA membership, please complete and enclose
the Membership Form.

ELIGIBILITY RULES
- Photographic works only.
- Photographers may submit two (2) works that have been created
using a photographic process.
- Work over 36” in any direction will be treated as two
works.
- Work must have been completed within the past two years.
- Works that have won awards in prior LRA shows or have been accepted
into LRA juried shows are not eligible
- All work should be of good taste for a public building where
young children are frequently in the gallery. The Fine Arts Committee
of the USGS reserves the right to unconditionally reject any work
not deemed suitable for display based on content or quality
- Each work must have the artist's name, title of work, and price
clearly visible on the back.
DELIVER ENTRIES
Drop off entries at the USGS on
Tuesday, July 1, 9:00 - 10:00 am. Please park in the Visitors Parking Area. You must show a picture ID and sign in with the security guard to enter the building.
AWARDS RECEPTION
TBD from 4:30 - 6:30 pm in the Main Hallway.
PICK UP WORK
Thursday, July 31st, 9:00 - 10:00 am.
If you are unable to pick up your work at this time, please arrange for a friend to do it for you. A fee of $10 per day will be assessed if your work is not picked up on time.

SALES
LRA will retain a 25% sales commission on all sales including sales up to 30 days after the exhibit closes, which are a direct result of this exhibit. Work will be sold at the price listed on the entry form unless marked Not for Sale (NFS).
LIABILITY
Artists exhibit all work at their own risk. The League of Reston
Artists and the US Geological Survey are not responsible or liable
for damage, theft or loss of an individual’s work from any
cause whatsoever.
INSTALLATION
Works must be framed according to LRA
standard rules. All work must be able to be hung on the wall
and ready for installation with proper hanging devices (screw eyes
and hanging wire) attached. LRA reserves the right to refuse
work that is improperly presented or unsafe to hang. No clips front
or back will be accepted. All work must be identified with the artist’s
name, phone number, title of work, medium and price.
AGREEMENT
All accepted work must remain for the duration of the show. LRA
reserves the right to photograph work for publicity and use on the
LRA website. LRA is not responsible for works
left after the pick-up dates following the close of the exhibition.
Submission of any entry constitutes understanding and agreement
with all of the conditions set forth in this prospectus.
