The Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History invites applications to our 2014 Sutherlin Arts and Wine Show, a juried show to be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Danville, Virginia. Named for the Museum’s historic Sutherlin Mansion, the juried art show and wine tasting will take place on the beautiful grounds of the Museum.
The Danville Museum has successfully hosted a juried art show for over ten years, but decided to enhance it as a fundraiser by bringing in winetasting. The event is well attended and publicized throughout Virginia and northern North Carolina. Food, a silent auction, and live music add to the festivities. The Art Show will open at 10:00 a.m., for free. The ticketed event that includes the winetasting will start at 1:00 p.m.
The Danville Museum is located at 975 Main Street, linking Averett University and the hospital campus to Downtown and the River District. We are the start of the walking tours for the Historic District, Millionaire’s Row, and the Holbrook-Ross Historic District. The Danville Museum is world famous for its Civil War exhibit, attracting visitors especially during May. The grounds include a rose garden and is a Garden Club of Virginia Historic Restoration Project. With these attractions and our location on the border with North Carolina, you will find this venue will open doors to new sponsors of your artwork.
