Finally Spring has arrived in the Mid-Atlantic.  With mild temps expected all week, and the trees and spring flowers bursting forth, now might be a good time to grab your gear and head outside for a little springtime photography.

After arriving home from recent photo trips, (Charleston, SC and NYC), I finally settled into the studio to finish updating my website.   Listed below are  classes/workshops scheduled over the next several months, plus information about an exhibition I will be installing at Multiple Exposures Gallery in early September.

Take a look and at the workshops and classes listed below and see it anything sparks your interest.  As always, please contact me with any questions you have.  Here is a link to my website.

~ Location Workshop

Join me and my co-leader Silvia Gonzalez Roman on a terrific photographic exploration of Acadia, one of our nation’s most rugged, scenic, diverse and stunningly beautiful National Parks.  We will gather early each morning, (with Maine being the easternmost state in the continental US, sunrise comes early) to photograph during the blue (before sunrise) and golden (during sunrise) hours of light, and won’t retire until after dusk, working tirelessly to capture the iconic scenes the Park and surrounding area offer. If you want to experience Maine photographically, this class will guide you on your journey.

Check your calendar and seriously consider joining us.  I promise you won't be disappointed!  For additional information about the ACADIA WORKSHOP, please click here

~ Lab Class

Whether you are new to Lightroom, or have experience with earlier releases, this course provides all the necessary instruction to fully incorporate Lightroom into your standard digital workflow. Our main focus is the Library and Develop modules where you will learn to create catalogues, import and organize files, and edit your images using the powerful, but simple to use, Develop Module sliders. In the remaining time we will discuss Lightroom's other modules, including the Print Module, and what you need to know to achieve high quality and "accurate" output.

~ Lab Class

If you use Lightroom or Photoshop to edit and print your images, but aren’t completely satisfied with your results, this class will help you identify and implement practical solutions. You will learn to critically evaluate your images and explore steps to take so your output matches your vision. We cover technical, aesthetic and design/composition issues, all with respect to the impact on individual images, and to the portfolio as a whole. This class provides the structure and opportunity to review, evaluate and improve your photographs in an supportive and educational environment.

Upcoming Exhibition at

I'm in the process of putting together my next exhibit at Multiple Exposures Gallery.  I'm culling through thousands of images made as part of my ongoing "Daily Journal" project which I began in 2008.

My plan is to include both framed photographs and handmade artist books showcasing photographic themes I have re-visited as part of this project over the last 5 years.

More information coming as the exhibit approaches.

Social Media: Embrace or Ignore
(from a recent Blog Post)

Late last year I decided that one of my goals for 2013 would be to get better acquainted with social media.  Figure out what it has to offer, how it works, and if/how I might incorporate it into my business strategy.

So far I have learned:
1) It takes a lot of time, many days too much!
2) It present daily challenges: learning, understanding and adopting.  It is definitely not for the faint of heart.
