The League of Reston Artists celebrated the opening of their April Founder's Exhibit with a luncheon and reception on Sunday, April 11th at the Lake Anne RCC in Reston.
LRA was founded in 1967 by nine artists who had great vision for the arts on Reston. Three of the original founders were present at the champagne luncheon - Joyce Duke, Nancy Erickson and Patricia Macintyre. Each founder was presented with an honorary lifetime membership award to LRA for their many years of service and support. Lassie Corbett a working artist in Reston was also a founder and honoree, but was not in attendence. In addition to honoring these founders, an honoary membership was given to Joe Miller, a master photographer and teacher who has contributed years of service to the organization.
The three founders were also the judges for the April member's exhibit. Patricia Macintrye was the sponsor of the awards and presented these at the reception following the luncheon. This exhibit is on display until May 3, 2010.
