Artscapade Kick-Off Party

Dear LRA Members,
 
We had a fabulous ArtsCapade Kick-off Party this week at Frying Pan Farm Park - complete with live music and food from Red, Hot & Blue. I want to thank the members who attended and helped with the party.  Some of our sponsors for ArtsCapade attended along with a reporter from the Connection Newspapers.
 
Are you going to enter this show?
  I have spoken with some members who have never participated in an outdoor show, but if you want to sell your work...this will be the place.  We are plan ning lots of promotion and events leading up to the festival. We definitely want our members to participate and we are offering to walk you through the application process for ArtsCapade.
 
We have made it simple...you register at www.zapplication.org/festivals look for ArtsCapade at Dulles Station Herndon, VA.  The registration fee is $35.  There will be two judges from Virginia Commonwealth University who will be selecting the participates. On the application you will be asked to submit images along with a photo of your booth/tent.  If you do not have a booth photo, we can assist you in what to do. I am willing to set up a tent in my driveway so you can bring your art and we will take the photo and then you will have it for future show applications. (we will have tents available to rent.)    Contact Kerin McBride who will be coordinating the artists - artscapade.artists@gmail.com and let her know if you need help.  The deadline for applications is August 11th..so please please reply promptly.  If you have not participated on an outdoor show, this is a good time to learn and enjoy.
 
You will be notified by the last week of August and then you can reserve your space - 8x8 or 10x10.  (Everything is explained on the application.)
 
The Westin Hotel at Dulles is our new business partner who will be hosting the preview party on Friday, October 22nd and supplying all the food and drinks.  Also, they will be displaying art of some of the participating artists in their lobby and beautiful restaurant.  The preview party will be open to LRA volunteers, participating artists, patrons and our business partners. 
 
Get involved and grab this opportunity to sell your art!  If you need more information, please let me know. This is the largest event LRA has undertaken and we need to fill 100 tents to make it successful.  Currently we have 20 artist's applications from all over - MI, PA, MD, NJ, FL, VA.  Come join the evolution...its time to show your work to thousands of new people!!
