Young Artist Fellowship 2014-2016
Touchstone Foundation for the Arts (TFA) Young Artist Fellowship program
is open to Washington area artists between the age of 18-29 and is
designed to help young and emerging artists to develop professionally
through a two-year membership in the Touchstone Gallery, mentoring by
established artists, participation in gallery group shows, and a
culminating solo show at the end of the two year fellowship. The
application process for the 2014-2016 fellowship program is now open for interested artists. Interested candidates should visit the TFA website: www.touchstonefoundationdc.org

Entries are now being accepted for the
Fourth Annual Joseph Miller Abstract Photography Exhibit. The deadline
for submissions is February 26. The prospectus is located below and details regarding this exhibit can be found on the NVACC.org website.
It will be an outstanding display of abstract photographs and I hope LRA

Young at Art Exhibit for Artists 55+ at RCC Hunters Woods
This year our annual Young at Art exhibit for artists 55+ will take place at RCC Hunters Woods during March instead of April. This free exhibit, for two dimensional art only, will go from Monday, March 3 to Monday, March 31.
Being a part of it is a good way to share your art with the Reston
community and hopefully will be fun as well. After the art is hung on
March 3, our judges will choose a day to joyfully peruse all of it and
then designate several artists to honor with Award Certificates. These
certificates will be presented during our reception on Friday, March 14, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
There will be good food, drinks and entertainment courtesy of our 55+
Program Director, Karen Brutsche, and 55+ Program Assistant, Susan

The form can also be found in the bins at both the Lake Anne and
Hunters Woods facilities and I will email it to you if requested. The Call for Entries deadline (form only) is Friday, February 21. You may scan and email it to me, fax it to my attention at 703-689-2897, or drop it off at either the RCC Lake Anne or RCC Hunters Woods facilities (addresses are on the form).
When you bring your piece(s) to the Community Room on Monday, March 3 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., please have an identifying label affixed to the back on one of the bottom corners, and be sure your piece is ready to hang with a hanging wire on the back.

Acceptance will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with two photos
per photographer. Any work over 36 inches wide will be considered two
photos. Your photos will be hung in the GRCC conference rooms and, if
necessary, in the hallway and front office, so there's a lot of
visibility. There is no entry fee for this Exhibit.

2014 exhibit, 'Winter Dreams', at our Parkridge 5 location! The entry
form for this exhibit must be completed on the LRA website by January 8,
2014. Due to space requirements at this location, the first 20

and available to a guest artist or a group artists for a one-month long

Applicants are required to send digital images and sizes of the works they want to exhibit.
While no entry fee is required, a $2000 rental fee PER MONTH must be paid by the accepted artist(s) to reserve exhibition space of approximately 50 running feet of display wall. Work will be juried.
Applicants should send digital images and sizes of all work they want
to show. Images must be e-mailed in digital format: jpg, 72dpi, maximum
image 1000 pixels maximum in either direction, with each image labeled
with last name and piece number: (e.g.Johnson1.jpg, Johnson 2.jpg, etc).
Accompanying the digital images must be an application form which will
be numbered to correspond with the number on the digital images and must
include: Artist(s) name, title, dimension, material and price.
ELIGIBILITY: This exhibit is open to artists 18 and older who can hand deliver and pick up their work.
All wall-mounted artwork must be original, suitably framed, and
prepared for hanging. No piece may weight more than 25 pounds.
Sculpture must be original and ready for presentation, not to weigh over
40 pounds. Installation works parameters will be determined
individually according depending on materials and composition.
Application deadline: Thursday, October 31, 2013 by 12 midnight. (Must submit filled out application form that can be downloaded at www.touchstonegallery.com and e-mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org along with images of the works you intend to show.)
Notification of acceptance: Wednesday, November 6, 2013

Delivery of artwork: Sunday – the week before - noon to 5pm. Include Artists Contract and the Application Form printed, completed and signed, and descriptive label
for each artwork attached to the back and to the front (removable on
the front). Each label should match the application form list by
including: artist name, title, medium, size, and price.
Removal of artwork: Sunday – last day of the show - noon to 5pm. Work
not picked up at that time will be charged $25/day storage fee. The
Gallery will not be responsible for mailing or shipping unsold guest
SALES: The gallery will take a 40% commission on sale of all artwork.
LIABILITY: All reasonable care will be taken to assure the safety of the art work.
However, Touchstone Gallery will not be liable for any damage or loss
during delivery, exhibition, storage, or removal. The artist is
responsible for insuring his/her own work.
