Area artists are invited to exhibit
their work (two-dimensional only; photography welcome) that can
be purchased for gift giving. Up to two works per artist will
be accepted for a $5 entry fee per work. The Reston Community
Center charges no sales commission, although artists are encouraged
to donate 10% of any sales to Reston Interfaith, to continue the
important work of the Embry Rucker Community Shelter, the Laurel
Learning Center and their Community Services Outreach, which includes
job counseling, emergency food, and youth programs. For further

The Jo Ann Rose Gallery is dedicated
to the memory of Reston artist Jo Ann Rose. Jo Ann was an elected
member of the Reston Community Center Board of Governors and an
active past president of the League of Reston Artists. Jo Ann worked
tirelessly for the creation of this unique community space to celebrate
the arts and artists of our community.

Note: The Jo Ann Rose Gallery is not
open to the public during rental functions and/or some other programs.
Please check at the information desk for scheduled events.
ENTRY FEE
The entry fee is $5 per piece for up to two pieces. No sales commission
or hanging fees will be assessed by the Reston Community Center.
Again, artists are encouraged to donate 10% of their proceeds to
Reston Interfath.

ELIGIBILITY RULES
- All works must be securely framed using screw eyes and hanging
wire for the hanging system in the Gallery. Works deemed unsafe
will be returned to the artist. (Clip style frames are not acceptable.)
If you have any questions about framing, contact Cheri Danaher
at 703-476-4500, x 6175 or Gloria Morrow at x 3000.
- Off-white or white mattes are preferred to ensure a coordinated
appearance.
- Each work must have the artist's name, phone number, title of
work, price, and medium clearly visible on the back. Sales will
not be conducted by the RCCpatrons will be directed to contact
the artists directly, and the artists will be responsible for
sales and sales taxes.
- Sold artwork may be removed from this exhibit only by arrangement
with the Art Coordinator.
- Because the Reston Community Center is a public facility used
by all members of the community, the nature of daily activities
requires discretion in the type of work displayed. Work that is
sexually explicit (i.e., work that is representational or realistic
in depiction of human genitals will be considered sexually explicit
by the RCC), or work that is graphically violent will not be considered
appropriate for the space. If artwork that does not meet these
guidelines is hung, the Reston Community Center reserves the right
to remove the work and store it until the artist can be contacted.
Center staff and artists work together to create an atmosphere
that is sensitive to the multi-use nature of the facility.
DELIVER ENTRIES
Drop off entries at the Reston Community Center at Lake Anne, Jo
Ann Rose Gallery on Friday, November 30 or Saturday, December
1 from Noon to 4 PM, or on Sunday, December 2 from 4–8
PM.
OPENING RECEPTION
Sunday, December 9, 24 PM.
PICK UP WORK
Wednesday, January 2, 9 AM to noon.
** This is also the drop
off and hanging date for the January exhibit, so please be courteous
and pick up your work within the specified time, or make arrangements
with a fellow artist to pick it up for you. **
