The
Artist:
Gerry Gantt has been taking nature and scenic photographs since
1967. Camera equipment has been various Nikon cameras, working with
Micro Nikkor lenses for close-up shots and with 300 mm zoom lenses
for distance shots. His current camera is a Nikon N90. Films used
have been exclusively Kodak slide films, including Kodachrome 25 and
64 and Ektachrome 100 as the Ektachrome emulsions have been improved
in recent years.
Gerry's methods for finding interesting shots is to seek them out
rather than
waiting for them to come to him. Both methods have merit and each
will
produce great photographs, but prowling around works better for
this
photographer.
Printing techniques in the past have utilized the Cibachrome materials
from
Illford. Currently, the photographer works almost exclusively with
the
digital medium in Adobe Photoshop® with a Nikon 4000-ED slide/film
scanner. Prints are generated using Hewlett Packard photo quality
printers to achieve sharp, archival quality prints. |
