Fairfax’s Creative Aging Festival has been well received, and the 14 county senior centers are clamoring for more arts programming. In response, a “vendor” fair is being planned for January 18 at Lincolnia Senior Center at 4710 N Chambliss St, Alexandria, VA 22312 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. The goal is to share resources and promote networking to facilitate more artist residencies, workshops, classes, and programming throughout the year.
Do you know a teaching artist who would be interested in participating? If so, please share this email. Ideally, artists will attend in person to meet the Senior Center Directors and discuss scheduling, but if not, we could distribute brochures or other printed information on their work. Teaching Artists should respond to me at LMariam@artsfairfax.org to RSVP for the vendor fair.
Please note that we are in the process of planning for the May 2017 Creative Aging Festival as well, and this vendor fair is an effort to further promote opportunities for seniors to engage in the arts year round.
Thank you for helping us to get the word out, and please let me know if you have any questions.
