The League of Reston Artists and Reston Art Gallery, In collaboration with Reston Chorale project of Peace and Justice and Northern Virginia Poetry Society, will present Tapestries of Peace and Justice.
Artists are invited to present their art pieces, reflecting the theme of Tapestry of Peace and Justice, to fill the wall of the gallery in Hunters Woods community center during the month of May. Artists who participated in the Peace and Identity show are welcome to re-present their pieces in this exhibition.
An incorporative event will be open to the public and will take place on May 4th:
Reston Chorale concert will be performed at two different times: 4.00pm and 7.30 pm.
Between the two concerts, we will enjoy poetry reading lead by Mike Maggio, vice president of Northern Virginia Poetry Society, and some light refreshments for artists and friends to celebrate a day of Peace and Justice with art. Our art pieces in the show will be projected during the two concerts in a slideshow with other Peace images and symbols.
Artists are welcome to invite friends, clients, and collectors to the opening receptions, and are encouraged to buy tickets for the concert performance to support Reston Chorale and to enjoy the event in full.
This show is open to LRA and Reston Art Gallery members only, and it’s a free show. Due to the limited space only the first 25 artists will be able to participate, please sign in as soon you can as space fills up quickly.
