Washington Printmakers Gallery seeks small works completed in the last two years from artists nationwide.
Digital Entry Deadline: June 8, 2019.
Eligibility: Hand-pulled prints, screen prints, digital prints, photographs, and three-dimensional work (including artist books) with print components completed within the past two years. Image may be no larger than 100 square inches, with framed size of 256 square inches or less. 3D works are limited to 250 cubic inches. Open to artists 18 years and older.
Exhibition Dates: August 1 – 25, 2019.
Reception & Awards: August 17, 2019, 2-4 PM.
Prizes:
Grand Prize: Solo exhibition at the Washington Printmakers Gallery in Georgetown.
1st Prize: $500 cash award from Washington Print Club
2nd Prize: $150 Solarplate Award gifted by Dan Welden
3rd Prize: $100 Materials Award from Renaissance Graphic Arts.
4th Prize: $100 Plaza Art Materials gift card

Judging: The juror is JD Talasek, the director of Cultural Programs of the National Academy of Sciences.Mr. Talasek is creator and moderator for a regular salon called DASER (DC Art Science Evening Rendezvous) held at the NAS and he organizes a similar salon in Austin, Texas. He has served as a creator, organizer, and advisor for numerous conferences, publications, and symposia. Mr. Talasek has taught at the University of Delaware and Essex and Howard Community Colleges, and has curated exhibitions at the National Academy of Sciences and the University of Delaware. He holds a B.S. in photography from East Texas State University, an M.F.A. in studio arts from the University of Delaware, and a M.A. in museum studies from the University of Leicester.
