The
Artist:
Carolyn is a Reston-based artist who studied photography at Northern
Virginia Community College. During these courses she was introduced
to a hand coloring process and has since developed her own unique
style using this process. Each of Carolyn's photographs requires many
hours of detail work involving multiple layers of colored pencils,
photo oils, and black magic marker, making each work distinctive and
unique.
Carolyn is a member of Factory Photoworks Gallery, Inc.,
Studio #312 in the Torpedo Factory Arts Center in Old Town
Alexandria, VA. Her work is also available in the Art League
Gallery, Alexandria (where she had her first one-person exhibit,
Postcards From the Beach in July 1999); Mountain Laurel
Crafts in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; The Balcony Gallery
in Berlin, Maryland; The Reston Historic Trust Museum, Lake
Anne Plaza, Reston; and in many other metropolitan locations through
her active involvement in the League of Reston Artists, The
Council for the Arts of Herndon (Art In Public Places Program),
and The Arts Council of Fairfax County (Corporate Art Program).
